The personal vaporizer device (1) comprises a cartridge (2) which includes a reservoir (8) for storing a liquid to be vaporized； and an elongate body portion (4) to which the cartridge (2) is connected. The elongate body portion (4) comprises a cover member (5) which is movable in a longitudinal direction of the body portion (4) between a first position (A) and a second position (B), wherein the cartridge (2) is substantially covered or obscured by the cover member (5) in the first position (A). In the second position (B), the cover member (5) is retracted.
