PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus capable of performing suitable autofocus even for a subject of low contrast, and a focus control method, a program, etc.SOLUTION: The endoscope apparatus includes a first image acquiring part, a second image acquiring part, and a focus control part 150. The first image acquiring part acquires, as a first image, an image of the subject in a living body imaged by an imaging optical system and including a subject image having information in a wavelength band of white light. The second image acquiring part acquires, as a second image, an image including the subject image having information in a specific wavelength band corresponding to the first image. The focus control part 150 performs control of focusing on the subject image in the second image to make a focus adjustment of the imaging optical system.
