The life support and active recovery unit (1) (variants) relates to the field of medicine and can be used for caring for severely ill recumbent patients. The unit (1) is connected to a water supply source and to a sewerage system or is used autonomously. Moveable lateral safety guards (5), end boards (2) and a bed (4) form a box lined with an underlay made from a waterproof material with hermetically sealed connectors. A module with balanced ventilation is provided. A portable hot and cold water mixer (14) can be removed, transferred and reinstalled. The unit (1) can additionally be equipped with a receiving device (18) for the collection and reuse of waste, wherein a through-hole is provided in the bed (4), mattress (10) and the bed-clothes between the patient and the receiving device for collection purposes, and the bed is lined with an underlay made from a waterproof material. The presence of the through-hole and the receiving device makes it possible for patients to perform even involuntarily acts of defecation and urination in bed.
