A method for guiding the position of a dental drill for implant treatment of a patient, the method acquiring a volume image of patient anatomy； superimposing an image of a planned drill hole on a display of the acquired volume image according to observer instructions to form an implant plan； displaying at least a portion of the implant plan in stereoscopic form on a head-mounted device worn by an observer and tracking patient position so that the displayed portion of the implant plan is registered to the patient anatomy that lies in the observer's field of view； and highlighting the location of the planned drill hole on the head-mounted device display.L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de guider la position d'une fraise dentaire à des fins de traitement implantaire d'un patient, le procédé comportant les étapes consistant à acquérir une image de volume de l'anatomie du patient ； superposer une image d'un trou de fraisage prévu sur un affichage de l'image de volume acquise en fonction des instructions de l'observateur pour former un plan d'implant ； afficher au moins une partie du plan d'implant sous forme stéréoscopique sur un dispositif monté sur un support de tête porté par un observateur et suivre la position du patient de sorte que la partie affichée du plant d'implant est alignée sur l'anatomie du patient qui repose dans le champ de vision de l'observateur ； et mettre en évidence l'emplacement du trou de fraisage prévu sur l'affichage du dispositif monté sur un support de tête.
