The present invention provides a novel glycyrrhizic acid orally-administered soft capsule preparation using a polyhydric alcohol base. Furthermore, the present invention provides an orally-administered soft capsule preparation of an extract for Chinese medicine and the like using a polyhydric alcohol base. A polyhydric alcohol such as glycerine or polyethylene glycol, or a mixture thereof is used as a solvent. A drug solution dissolved at a higher concentration than the usual case in which water is used as a solvent, is formed as soft capsules after being mixed with an aqueous gelatin solution at an appropriate ratio, providing an oral preparation. The soft capsules rapidly liquefy in the body at body temperature, and the glycyrrhizic acid dissolved by the solvent in the capsules is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Glycerine is useful for improving absorption, and polyhydric alcohols such as glycerine are stable and do not damage the gastrointestinal tract. In addition to the active component, glycyrrhizic acid, accessory ingredients such as glycine and methionine can be pre-dissolved in the gelatin solution at an appropriate ratio.
