Specific embodiments described herein relate to apparatus and methods for managing decompression at tissue sites. The apparatus includes a decompression source for generating a decompression. The decompression is delivered to the tissue site through a delivery tube. The device includes a single pressure sensor. The single pressure sensor detects actual decompression at the tissue site. The apparatus also includes a controller. The controller determines the response of the actual decompression measured at the pressure sensor to the increase in the decompression generated by the decompression source. The apparatus includes an indicator.
