The hollow cutter is translatable relative to the needle portion to cut the tissue sample from tissue protruding through the hole. The hollow cutter defines a cutter lumen. The tissue sample holder includes a body and a tissue sample tray. The tissue sample tray is removably engaged with the body and includes a downwardly extending lumen.
