The present invention provides an extrusion and conditioning apparatus, withan extruder which,in a conveying position, leads into a conveyor housing connected in a sealedmanner to apneumatic supply line and to a pneumatic conveyor line, from which extrudedmaterial can beremoved pneumatically, especially by means of superheated steam, via theconveyor line. Theextruder can be moved from the conveying position into a bypass position, inwhich the extruderleads to the exterior of the conveyor housing, having a means for sealing thesupply and conveyorlines and the conveyor housing vis-à-vis the surroundings when the extruder isin the conveyingand bypass positions.
