PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking brake device for a wheelchair that achieves stable and high braking force, and ease of use to allow a braking operation to be performed easily with one hand, and includes a safety device for preventing a user with dementia, etc. from releasing a brake.SOLUTION: Right and left main wheels of a wheelchair are equipped with a hub brake such as a band brake and a roller brake which is widely used for a rear wheel of a bicycle. A brake lever is of a ratchet type, and locking and unlocking of the wheels can be performed easily with one hand.
