PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination system for facilitating user designation of a desired light amount or irradiation time.SOLUTION: An illumination system 1 includes an illumination light source 6 for irradiating a user with illumination light, a user interface unit 3 for accepting a user operation, a controller 2 for controlling the light amount and irradiation time of the illumination light source 6, and a storage unit 21 for storing characteristic information 21a having a negative correlation between the light amount and the irradiation time.
