PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of exactly and rapidly evaluating the effectiveness (hair quality improving effect) as a hair quality improving agent of a test agent from information on hair lipid composition before and after use of the test agent.
SOLUTION: In this method of evaluating the hair quality improving agent, a sample prepared from a hair root part of hair or a hair bottom part near the scalp before and after use of the hair quality improving agent is separated and detected by a liquid chromatograph-mass spectrometry, the composition information on hair lipid molecules is obtained, and the composition information on hair lipid molecules before and after use of the hair quality improving agent is associated with the hair quality improving effect of the hair by use of the hair quality improving agent.
