In order to provide effective and rapid absorption of a water soluble herbal juice with high active substance content, it has been aimed to formulate an effervescent tablet. The major objective of this invention is to provide a beverage in solid effervescent system (Tablet) comprising of water soluble herbal juice powder (300mg per tablet and the total weight of the tablet of about 500mg) which is to be used for its diuretic and/or antihyperlipidemic activity which dissolves quickly between about 30 to 90 seconds in water by direct compression technique. This is achieved by forming effervescent particles that are dense enough to dissolve slowly with the said time period. The tablet may contain the functional additives such as organic acid, carbonate salt, disintegrent, sweetener, lubricant, binder and flavor and which produces effervescence (CO2) upon placing the formulation in water, due to the reaction between the acid and carbonate, producing a lightly carbonated beverage which has an equivalent level of herbal components in the isotonic drink.
