The present invention provides a soft prosthetic implant (10) comprising a flexible shell (30) having a shell wall defining an inner chamber (34), and a volume of dry nanoparticle powder (40) within the inner chamber that forms a gel (50) when mixed with a fluid characterised in that the dry nanoparticle powder comprises at least one of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, 2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate and poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate). A method for producing a soft prosthetic implant is also provided.
