PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system capable of effectively cooling an illuminating light source while avoiding large-scaling of an endoscope body, in a configuration in which the light source is provided in the endoscope body.SOLUTION: An endoscope system includes: an endoscope body having an insertion part inserted into an observation target, and a plug part 6 connected with a rear part of the insertion part and a video processor having a socket part 7 connected with the plug part 6. The plug part 6 is provided with: an illumination LED 22 and a heat radiation unit transferring heat generated by the LED 22 to the outside.
