PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey spatial relationships in three-dimensional ultrasonic imaging.SOLUTION: For movement of a volume rendering (VR) from one view to another view, the movement is animated (28) and a rotation is shown. For example, a user examines one diagnostic view (24), but decides to examine another diagnostic view (30). When the other diagnostic view is selected, the volume rendered image appears to rotate. The rotation from one view to another view shows the spatial relationships between the views.
