PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy attachment of a cover member, which can prevent entanglement to a level wind mechanism, to a reel body.SOLUTION: An electric reel 100 comprises a reel body 1, a spool 10, a level wind mechanism 22, and a cover member 40. The reel body 1 includes a fishing rod fitting leg 7g and a frame 7. The frame 7 has a first side plate 7a disposed at a handle 2 side and a second side plate 7b disposed to be spaced from the first side plate 7a so that the spool 10 can be disposed between the first side plate 7a and the second side plate 7b. The spool 10 is rotatable with respect to the reel body 1. The level wind mechanism 22 has a fishing line guide 63 in front of the spool 10, which can reciprocate along a spool shaft 14 that is a rotation axis of the spool 10.
