PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-bearing type reel in which grip feeling is good at real fishing and a side plate never malfunctions to a frame.SOLUTION: A double-bearing type reel of the present invention has: a reel body 1 comprising left and right side plates for applying a side plate 8A to a frame 7 in an opening/closing manner； a spool 3 rotatably supported between the left and right side plates； a handle 5 provided at one side of the side plate and rotationally driving the spool 3； and an opening and closing mechanism 20 provided at the reel body and capable of opening and closing the side plate of the anti-handle side to the frame.
