PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image diagnostic apparatus capable of suppressing an influence due to contact between a gantry and an obstacle attached to a subject.SOLUTION: A medical image diagnostic apparatus includes a gantry, a top plate, a setting part and a movement control part. In the gantry, an opening part functioning as an imaging space is formed. The top plate is inserted into the opening part, while placing a subject thereon, when imaging of the subject is performed. The setting part sets a relative movement range of the top plate to the gantry during imaging, on the basis of an imaging condition when performing imaging.
