PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image diagnostic apparatus capable of improving efficiency of image reading.SOLUTION: A medical image diagnostic apparatus includes a compression plate, an X-ray irradiation part, an X-ray detector, and an ultrasonic probe. The compression plate compresses breasts of a subject. The X-ray irradiation part irradiates an X-ray while moving an X-ray irradiation region in a direction orthogonal to a depth direction of the compression plate. The X-ray detector is moved in the direction orthogonal to the depth direction of the compression plate interlocking with the movement of the X-ray irradiation region by the X-ray irradiation part.
