An apparatus for detecting condensation is presented. The apparatus comprises a measurement probe (301) comprising a measurement chamber (3) comprising a surface (12), a light source (1) configured to emit light onto or through the surface (12), and a light detector (2) configured to detect the light that has interacted with the surface (12) and convert the detected light into a detection signal. The apparatus further comprises a controller (212) configured to determine whether a liquid is detected on the surface (12) based on the detection signal and generate an output signal comprising an indication of whether the liquid is detected on the surface (12).
