Systems and methods for hematocrit measurement are provided. The present disclosure provides systems and methods for a low power and low-cost utilization of a microprocessor to capture hematocrit measurements for a blood glucose meter. The systems and methods include an electronic meter for performing a diagnostic test on a sample applied to a test strip inserted. The electronic meter can include a low cost low power microcontroller for capturing the hematocrit measurements.
