PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pharmaceutical compositions for inhibiting recurrence, aggravation, and metastasis of hepatocarcinoma.SOLUTION: Heparanase is a kind of endogenous glucuronidase and has an important effect on tumor metastasis and angiogenesis. The pharmaceutical composition contains a sulfurated oligosaccharide compound having a phosphate group that inhibits heparanase activity, a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent, excipient, or carrier. The raw material of the active ingredient of the pharmaceutical composition is obtained from the yeast Pichia holstii. The active ingredient is mainly prepared by steps, such as a culture and fermentation of the yeast, as well as a hydrolysis, purification, and sulfuration of products.
