PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a standing-type chlorine dioxide generator comprising a hydrous gel that generates chlorine dioxide just by the opening of a lid, the opening of the lid involving a less chlorine smell, the hydrous gel maintaining a gel form at least until the opening of the lid.SOLUTION: There is provided a chloride dioxide generator comprising a hydrous gel that comprises chlorite housed in a lid-having container. The hydrous gel is gelated with a water-absorbing resin, comprises a chlorine absorbent such as an organic or inorganic ammonium salt and optionally an inorganic thickening agent, and fills the container. The opening of the lid of the container involves a less chlorine smell, and chlorine dioxide gradually generated exhibits a sterilization effect and deodorization effect.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【課題】 蓋を開けるだけで二酸化塩素が発生する含水ゲルを含む置き型の二酸化塩素発生具であって、蓋を開けたときの塩素臭が少なく、且つ少なくとも蓋を開けるまでは含水ゲルがゲルの形態を保持している二酸化塩素発生具を提供する。【解決手段】 亜塩素酸塩を含有する含水ゲルが蓋付きの容器内に収納された二酸化塩素発生具であって、前記含水ゲルは吸水性樹脂でゲル化されてなり、含水ゲルが有機または無機アンモニウム塩などの塩素吸収剤や必要により無機増粘剤を含み、含水ゲルが容器内を満たしていることを特徴とする二酸化塩素発生具であって、容器の蓋を開けたときに塩素臭がなく、二酸化塩素が徐々に発生してその殺菌消臭効果を発揮する。【選択図】 図１
