PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand-held lawn mower having a mechanism which prevents a blade from contacting with curbstones, etc.SOLUTION: The lawn mower is provided with the hair clipper type blade that horizontally projects to the front surface of a body and a handle part in an upper part of the body, and is used by holding the handle part, wherein a blade guard 6 having a front edge and a right and left edge slightly larger than the size of the blade 2 is provided lapping over the blade 2. Moreover, the blade guard 6 consists of a transparent material.
