PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper capable of preventing the occurrence of staying and backflow of liquid on an abutment surface while securing the softness of the abutment surface, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: The disposable diaper has: a transparent top sheet arranged on the abutment surface an absorption body which is arranged at the back surface side of the transparent top sheet and extends from a lower abdomen to a hip along the center in the width direction through a crotch and an intermediate element which is arranged between the transparent top sheet and the absorption body so as to face them.
