PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for producing an oxidized compound, which allow easy detection of the end point of an oxidation reaction and rapid transition to the following step by: measuring the electric potential of a reaction fluid of an oxidation reaction for forming the oxidized compound by oxidation and determining the end point of the oxidation reaction on the basis of a predetermined decrease of the electric potential.SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing an oxidized compound comprises a reactor (1) for carrying out an oxidation reaction an oxidation-reduction potential detecting means (5) for detecting the value of the oxidation-reduction potential of the oxidation reaction fluid in the reactor and a determination means (6) for continuously monitoring the oxidation-reduction potential values detected by the oxidation-reduction potential detecting means and determining the time when the potential value reduced from the maximum potential of the oxidation-reduction potential reaches the predetermined potential value as the end point of the oxidation reaction.
