The present invention relates to at least one probiotic strain of Lactobacillus for use in a subject for the prevention and/or treatment of celiac disease autoimmunity (CDA), or for use in the prevention and/or treatment of celiac disease (CD). A preferred composition for use according to the invention is a composition comprising a combination of Lactobacillus paracasei and Lactobacillus plantarum, especially L. paracasei 8700:2 (DSM 13434) in combination with L. plantarum HEAL 9 (DSM 15312).
