The present invention relates to compositions, methods and kits for improvingthe size and appearance of a healed wound or scar. The composition includes atherapeutically effective amount of at least one cyclooxygenase inhibitor, NF-kB inhibitor, or an antiirritant. For topical, transdermal administration, thecyclooxygenase inhibitor or NF-kB inhibitor may be present in a thermalinsulating material such as a hydrogel. The thermal insulating material mayalso include a deodorant agent to reduce surface bacteria and odor formation.
