PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accelerator and a particle beam medical treatment device that can quickly stop extraction of a charged particle beam when abnormality occurs.SOLUTION: An accelerator has an incidence device and a beam extinguishing device. The incidence device makes a charged particle beam incident. The beam extinguishing device extinguishes the charged particle beam according to the operation state of the accelerator for making the incident charged particle beam go around along the orbit.
