The invention relates to an organic pesticide obtained from plant extracts that display considerable synergistic interactions in the pesticide activity thereof and are effective in the biological control of pests that attack commercial crops, the main features of which include the effective control of white insects, low toxicity for mammals and low persistence in the environment, and in which the plant extracts are formulated, standardised extracts of Argemone mexicana and Cirsium ehrenbergii. Said pesticide consists of a chemical composition obtained from standardised plant extracts of Argemone mexicana and Cirsium ehrenbergii, which is characterised by being made up of 0.1 % - 20 % of isoquinoline alkaloids and the derivatives thereof, 0.001 % - 10 % of flavonoids and the glycosyl derivatives thereof, and 0.1 % - 5 % of vegetable oil. Therefore, the scope of the invention is limited in general terms to organic pesticides and, in particular, to obtaining an organic pesticide that con tains, as active ingredients, a mixture of isoquinoline alkaloids and flavonoids to be used for agricultural pest control.Un plaguicida orgánico, la cual se obtiene a partir de extractos vegetales que presentan importantes interacciones sinérgicas en su actividad plaguicida, eficiente para el control biológico de plagas que atacan a cultivos de interés comercial, cuyas características principales son un desarrollo eficiente sobre los insectos blanco, baja toxicidad para los mamíferos y baja persistencia en el medio ambiente, donde los extractos vegetales son formulados y estandarizados de Argemone mexicana y Cirsium ehrenbergii.
