PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swab for cleaning in oral cavity, with an excellent cleaning effect in cleaning between teeth or between teeth and gums.SOLUTION: The swab for cleaning in an oral cavity includes a shaft body and a cotton body at at least one end of the shaft body. The cotton body comprises: split fiber yarns (A) in which conjugate fibers comprising two or more kinds of fiber forming polymers and having a single fiber fineness of 3 dtex or less are split by stress and thermally fused fibers (B) which has a single fiber fineness of 1-5 dtex. The cotton body has a tapered shape toward the tip thereof and has a coefficient of water absorption of 50-200%, and a wet deformation rate under a load of 200 g of 20% or lower. Specially, the thermally fused fibers (B) comprise a polymer whose melting point or softening point is at least 30°C lower than the melting point or softening point of the fiber forming polymer constituting the split fibers (A), and it is preferable that the thermally fused fibers (B) are melted by heat treatment and fused with the split fibers (A).COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】 歯間や歯と歯茎の間などの清掃において、清掃効果の優れた口腔内清掃用綿棒を得る。【解決手段】 軸体と、軸体のすくなくとも一端に綿体を有した綿棒であって、綿体は、二種以上の繊維形成性ポリマーからなる単糸繊度が3dtex以下の複合繊維を応力で割繊せしめた割繊糸(A)と単糸繊度が1~5dtexの熱融着繊維(B)とから先端に向かってテーパー形状に構成され、吸水率が50~200%、200g荷重下での湿潤変形率が20%以下である口腔内清掃用綿棒である。なかでも、熱融着繊維(B)は、割繊糸(A)を構成する繊維形成性ポリマーの融点または軟化点より、少なくとも30℃以上より低いポリマーから構成され、熱融着繊維(B)は、熱処理により融解して割繊糸(A)と融着しているものが好ましい。【選択図】図1
