The present invention relates to a novel method for treating liquid and solid cancer in mammals, including humans, wherein the methioninase is administered prior to asparaginase. The present invention also includes the use of dietary methionine deprivation prior to asparaginase treatment, in combination with dietary methionine deprivation, and possibly methionine administration.
