Method and device intended to germinate "out of the ground" traditional grains on superposed plates maintained at the temperature required for the germination, characterised in that the grains are pre-mixed with gelified water before depositing the resultant mixture, at the beginning of the culture, to the germination plates thereby avoiding any watering during the whole germination cycle up to the harvest of a green, fresh and natural food mat comprised of seedlings and thick roots and intended to the animal or human feeding.
