An ultraviolet ionizing unit (10) for an air purifying that treats all air passing therethrough. The unit (10) has a housing (12) with an air ingress opening (I) at first end, an air egress opening (E) at a second end, an open end, at least two spaced apart internal retainers (102/104) formed inside the housing (12), and a cavity (C) formed in a space between the two spaced apart internal retainers (102/104). Two sections of ion generating material (50) are retained in a spaced apart manner by the two spaced apart internal retainers (102/104). Spacers (80/82) are used to hold a U-shaped UV lamp (60) in the cavity (C), provide cushioning of the UV lamp (60) therein, and providing additional sealing so that all air passing through the ionizing unit (10) will be treated. A housing end cap (100) covers the open end of the housing (10) and retains the UV lamp (60) therein so that the sections of ion generating material (50) are fully exposed by UV light.La présente invention concerne une unité dionisation aux ultraviolets (10), destinée à la purification dair, qui traite la totalité de lair qui la traverse.
