To provide a safety needle assembly that reduces friction acting between a needle guard and a needle.SOLUTION: A safety needle assembly has a first hub 152 attached to a flexible tube, and a second hub 156 attached to a needle 158 projecting through the flexible tube. A needle guard 122 is positioned in an interior cavity 170 of the first hub. The needle guard has a proximal wall having an opening 132 and two arms 134, 136 each with an end. The two ends 138, 140 are spaced and biased toward the needle at a ready position.
