The safety needle assembly has a first hub secured to the flexible tube and a second hub secured to a needle that projects through the flexible tube. A needle protector is disposed in the inner cavity of the first hub. The needle protector has a proximal wall having an opening and two arms each having an end. The two ends are spaced apart from each other and are biased against the needle in the ready position.
