PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article configured to improve the absorbability of bodily fluid during the use, to improve the flexibility of an absorber on the whole, and to improve the shape-keeping capability of the absorber having absorbed the bodily fluid.SOLUTION: A diaper 1 includes: a front surface sheet 2 a rear surface sheet 3 and a vertically long absorber 4 disposed between the sheets 2 and 3. The absorber 4 has a constricted absorbent core 41 in a crotch part C. The absorbent core 41 has a block area 411 where a block structure 400 are regularly disposed in the vertical direction from an abdominal part A to a back part B, and a non-block area 412 enclosing the outer periphery of a plurality of block areas 411. The block structure 400 is composed of projections 43 with a high basis weight and grooves 44 with a low basis weight. The width of the abdominal part and back part is larger than the width of the crotch part in the block area 411. An abdominal side part 411a of the block area 411 extends toward the crotch part C crossing over a position Ka1 where the width of the abdominal part A of the absorbent core 411 starts to narrow.
