Accordingly, the present disclosure provides methods for treating human subjects suffering from lipid storage disorders, such as Niemann-Pick disease, by administering PKC activators. The present disclosure provides, according to certain embodiments, methods comprising administering to a subject with Niemann-Pick Type C disease a pharmaceutically effective amount of bryostatin 1.
