The present invention relates to a composition comprising a seed extract of Schizandra chinensis for treating or alleviating vascular diseases, and to a manufacturing method thereof. The composition comprising a seed extract of Schizandra chinensis of the present invention is capable of preventing the damage in arteries from being developed as atherosclerosis by inhibiting the movement of MMP and effectively inhibiting smooth muscle cells from producing ROS substances, NO, and PEG2. In addition, the composition has antioxidant activities, is capable of inhibiting an inflammatory medium and an inflammatory reaction, and is capable of alleviating or preventing the progress of vascular diseases therethrough. Therefore, the composition can be efficiently used for treating and preventing vascular-related diseases.본 발명은 오미자 종자 추출물을 포함하는 혈관질환 치료 또는 개선용 조성물과 그 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명은 오미자 종자 추출물을 포함하는 조성물의 경우 MMP의 이동을 저해하고, 평활근 세포가 ROS 물질, NO 및 PEG2 를 생성하는 것을 효과적으로 억제함으로써 동맥 손상에서 죽상동맥경화증으로 발달하는 것을 방지할 수 있고, 염증성 매개체 및 염증성 반응을 억제할 수 있고, 항산화 활성을 가지며, 이를 통해 혈관성 질환의 진행을 개선 또는 예방할 수 있어, 혈관과 관련된 질환의 치료 및 예방에 효과적으로 사용될 수 있다.
