An exhalation value assembly that controls the pressure of exhaled gas in a ventilation system is described. The exhalation valve assembly includes a valve module, removable for cleaning or disposal, a filter module, a flow meter and a condensate trap. Additionally, a filter/trap module that introduces a filter and a condensate trap into the exhalation flow path is described.
