PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a riding type lawn mower in which a degree for reducing a mower-lifting or lowering action range is reduced with a shaft cover for covering a transmission shaft having a universal joint and which covers the whole periphery of the transmission shaft including a universal joint portion.SOLUTION: Provided is the riding type lawn mower characterized in that the shaft cover 5 covering the outer periphery of a transmission shaft 3 for transmitting a driving force from the side of a travel machine frame 1 to a mower 4 comprises the first cover portion 51 mounted on the side of the travel machine frame 1 and the second cover portion 52 mounted on the side of the mower 4.
