PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manipulator having high flexibility and enabling the operator to accurately sense an external force applied to an end operating part.SOLUTION: This manipulator comprises: a wire 56 moving forward and backward a passive wire 252 having both ends connected to the wire 56 an idle pulley 140, a guide pulley 142, and an forward and backward movable passive pulley 156 arranged in this order from the base end side and an end effector 104 connected to the passive pulley 156. The passive wire 252 extends from a terminal 250, extends through the first side of the idle pulley 140, extends to the second side thereof on the opposite side of the first side, and extends through the second side of the passive pulley 156. Then, the passive wire is wrapped around the passive pulley 156, extends through the first side of the passive pulley 156, extends through the second side of the idle pulley 140, and returns to the terminal 250.
