Disclosed is a method for collecting different selected exhaled breath samples, or fractions thereof, on a single sample capture device, the method comprising the steps of: (a)collecting a first exhaled breath sample by contacting the sample with a capture device comprising an adsorbent material； (b)collecting a second exhaled breath sample by contacting the second sample with said capture device, wherein the first and second exhaled breath samples are caused to be captured on the capture device in a spatially separated manner.L'invention concerne un procédé pour collecter différents échantillons d'haleine exhalée sélectionnés, ou des fractions de ceux-ci, sur un seul dispositif de capture d'échantillon, le procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à : (a) collecter un premier échantillon d'haleine exhalée par la mise en contact de l'échantillon avec un dispositif de capture comprenant un matériau adsorbant ； (b) collecter un second échantillon d'haleine exhalée par la mise en contact du second échantillon avec ledit dispositif de capture, les premier et second échantillons d'haleine exhalée étant amenés à être capturés sur le dispositif de capture d'une manière spatialement séparée.
