A method of forming a matrix of aligned nanofibres comprises spraying a polymer solution towards a rotating drum so as to form nanofibres which are collected on the drum. The matrix can be used to form artificial tissue by removing the matrix from the drum, depositing cells onto the matrix and allowing the cells to form artificial tissue. Such artificial tissue finds use in the treatment of disease or damaged tissue, and in particular in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.La présente invention concerne un procédé de formation dune matrice de nanofibres alignées qui comprend la pulvérisation dune solution polymère en direction dun tambour rotatif pour former des nanofibres qui sont collectées sur le tambour. La matrice peut être utilisée pour former un tissu artificiel en retirant la matrice du tambour, en déposant les cellules sur la matrice et en laissant les cellules former un tissu artificiel. Un tel tissu artificiel est utile dans le traitement dune maladie ou dun tissu lésionnel, et notamment dans le traitement dune maladie cardiovasculaire.
