PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin and soft absorbent article capable of attaining a sufficient absorbing property.
SOLUTION: This absorbent article 1 is provided with a surface sheet 2, a back side sheet 4 and an absorber 3 interposedly disposed between the both sheets, wherein the absorber 3 contains a highly absorbent polymer with liquid permeation speed of 60 ml/min or more under pressurization of 2.0 kPa. The surface sheet 2 has a first layer 21 and a second layer 22 consisting of a sheet-like material, wherein the first layer 21 and the second layer 22 constitute the surface and the back side of the surface sheet 2 respectively, the first layer 21 is formed with multiple projections which project to the surface side and have hollow inner parts and recessed parts positioned between the projections, and the second layer 22 is formed into a planar shape.
