PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly thickening paste composition that exhibits a synergistically excellent thickening property by solving the problem of a thickening paste composition using polysaccharides where, if the paste composition is contained in a liquid composition having a specific salt concentration, desired viscosity cannot be obtained, or even if the desired viscosity is obtained, a variation of the obtained viscosity of the liquid composition is small in different temperature ranges, thus resulting in deteriorated texture such as food left behind in the mouth, or hard to be swallowed.SOLUTION: The paste composition contains (A) xanthane gum (B) locust bean gum and (C) guar gum. The mass ratio of the total amount of a component (A) and a component (B) to a component (C) is 95:5 to 85:15.
