A patient transfer device and an associated method of transferring a patient using the device are described. The device, which can be used anytime a patient needs to be moved or transferred out of bed especially in those circumstances wherein the patient is in any way incapacitated and is unable to move or assist in the transfer, transfers the patient laterally from a longitudinal side of the bed onto the device. The transfer can be accomplished with minimal medical staff interaction and as such significantly and substantially reducing the risk or injury and harm not only for the patient but also the staff.L'invention concerne un dispositif de transfert de patient, et un procédé associé de transfert de patient utilisant le dispositif.
