A method for providing a hydrogel coating on a polymeric substrate of a medical device involves a priming step in which the polymeric substrate is contacted with a priming solution, and a grafting step following the priming step in which the polymeric substrate is contacted with a grafting solution, thereby providing a polymeric substrate of a medical device having a hydrogel coating.La présente invention concerne un procédé d'obtention d'un revêtement d'hydrogel sur un substrat polymère d'un dispositif médical comprenant : une étape d'amorçage où le substrat polymère est mis en contact avec une solution d'amorçage comprenant de 1 à 30 % en masse d'un diacrylate de polyéthylène glycol ayant une masse moléculaire moyenne de 300 à 750 Da ； une étape de greffage après l'étape d'amorçage où le substrat polymère est mis en contact avec une solution de greffage, ce qui permet d'obtenir un substrat polymère d'un dispositif médical ayant un revêtement d'hydrogel.
