Class 30 In a cutting implement comprising two co-operating blades at least one of the blades has a toothed edge adjacent to, and extending parallel with, the cutting edge, the toothed edge being formed integral with the blade. As shown, the blades 10 and 11 of a pair of garden shears are each formed with a chamfered edge 13. Teeth 14 are milled in the edge of the blade 11 and are separated from the cutting edge, 15 by a V-shaped groove 16 ground into the edge of the blade, 'the tips of the teeth being in advance of the cutting edge 15. A toothed edge may be provided on each blade.
