PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for splitting cooked rice for a food molding machine, capable of reliably splitting viscous and sticky cooked rice into specified quantities.SOLUTION: The device includes: a couple of splitting blades S having comb teeth on the edge side, openable in the crosswise direction, disposed at the bottom of a cooked rice feed part so as to split the cooked rice into a required amount; and a couple of splitting blade swing drive mechanisms corresponding to each of the splitting blades S for an alternate swing action in the downward direction at the blocking position where the comb teeth H on the edge side of each of the splitting blades are engaged with each other.
